Title: A question on the programm
Post by: Iasius on January 25, 2009, 07:12:02 AM
I was reading the front page of the T2 section and read:

"Import 3D objects for rendering. Export high resolution objects."

Im being very vague here but could it be possible, or even eventually possible, to import other programs such as, for example, the halo 3 character and his accompanieing movement and scenery interaction software, and mesh it with T2?

If you don't know where im going:

Is it possible to make a T2 'planet' a massive virtual environment for 'gamers' to wonder around?

I have virtually NO knowledge of programming so you'll have to forgive the 'newbyness' of my question.

Thank you  :)

You could import a static Halo character object, but no movement or anything like that.
What you could do is use the lwo exporter to export a piece of the terrain into a map editor for Halo.
The exported mesh can be extremely high-res, but that would be unable to load because of the file size.

If you create a 360 panorama from Tg2 renders, that could be your environment map, and some top-view renders of the landscape could be used as textures for the mesh.

So it's possible to use TG2 for the terrain, but not for the rest of the game...
