Trying something different from my attempt on realistic renders...
It was so fun to try to do something "alien" looking ^^
I am speechless ... Congratulations!
Holy shit ....
"sorry, it had to be said"
Very good lighting - again ... seems to be the point of your renders that add an over-additional eyecatcher.
Fine control of those hard-to-be-controlled displacements. Could be a tad softer - else a flawless work!
I really like the colour-shades and the glow. Very good concept and execution!.
Amazing work. I love the lighting and the organic looking displacement in the lower half. It actually looks like a kind of colony of insect-like aliens. ;D
Looks organic what you have growing there? Cool!
Cool. Different use of TG2 which is nice to see.
Freaky!
And kinda cool. Woooo. Nice experimentation.
Great work, Seth :).
really excellent - nice to see something different from time to time. Thanks!
Frank
thank you all ^^
Love those pods; what alien lifeforms are gestating in them. An excellent other-wordly sci-fi conception.

Wow! Another fantastic scene, Seth. Job's a goodun! Looks like a giant, malignant chrysalis.
Hey, I agree with John. This would be perfect for the Expose contest. :P

8) very nice .
Incredible render! Makes me want to dip a coffee mug into that liquid and take a test sip...though not sure how long the metamorphosis into a xenoinsectoid would take.
It looks similar to this structure:

Are there any relations?
no, relation at all
no strata shader was used.
only PF
???? Only PF ????
IMO there are also some crater shaders. At the beginning I thought you used also inverted ones, but looking again your picture I am not sure.
Nice picture, if you ever post a bigger one, I will add it to my collection of wallpapers.
Bye
Pascal.
yeah some craters too, i was talking wbout the pod things ^^
i am happy to see good feedbacks about this one :)
You might see if someone would make a poster out of this one for you and try to sell it. It's original enough, maybe some people would like it.
maybe I should re-render it bigger for that kind of thing...
I'll see what i can do...
thank you all
Wow! This is a brilliant one! Looks like some organic structure. Very impressive! :o
here (http://seth93.blogspot.com/2009/02/outer-life-wip.html) is the first version I made... without craters and more basic lighting...
you can see a closer view of the strange formation too...
And you're planning on writing a tutorial about your lighting, still. Ri-i-i-i-i-ght?
hehehe
lol !
I didn't think about it... ^^
The lighting is sensational and, please think about it. ;D

I was so fascinated by this image that I did some research on producing terrains like this.
Even if it is far from the genius of the original it shows quite interesting structures.

thats a great scene, I would love to see a gentle camera move in there with some freaky alienships swirling around!
that is gross....and excellent also...well done!
hehe good bubbles !
