Title: TG2 Canyon scene with postwork
Post by: PG on February 11, 2009, 08:11:26 PM
But the twist is....the postwork is done in TG2. No it's not a new plugin, it's just this weird effect I got from my displacements. There's no use of functions but the surface looks like wood grain. Anyone else had this before? I'll be posting updates to this canyon, as I go, too as it is a full project. There are some weird shadow anomolies which I'll be looking at as I get the terrain where I want it.
Edit: Might wanna post the image

Looks more like some kind of Toon Shader to me, interesting effect.  ;D

Regards to you.

Ah I see you made a start with my suggestions :) Also see you have quite a hard time, logically, it isn't easy at all!
I think you should increase the roughness of the displacements of the redirect shaders slightly.
You might also consider choosing some bigger scales for the first redirect and choose smaller ones for the second.
Then merge the canyonsides and texture them both simultaneously using layers/PF's.

I had some luck using just a PF shader with some extra warp for the French polished tabletop effect in my sweaty balls image, smooth, close scales and a reflective shader to finish it... http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=4744.0
