--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
an idea I had recently with hand drawn image maps for a density shader, on the fake stones shader.

I like the sand.

I found it on imageafter.com, along with other sand textures.

On second look (and clicking for the bigger image this time), this is pretty creative.  It's a beginning, perhaps, but I'm not sure where you'd go from here.  Nice job with the paint shader, though.

I did'nt use the painted shader- when I said hand drawn, I meant that did'nt do it on a computer.

yeah I did some test renders with vegitation earlier, but I was'nt sure about it, so I just decided to do a more bare render.

So that's an image...or how did you do this?

yes, its just a image, which I had photographed, I had to level it out bit in gimp to bring out the whiteness in the background,
then I used a image map shader as a blending shader with the fake stones TG2 and set it to the Y axis projection.

the last render just featured part of the drawing, this one has the whole drawing in it.

from a different pov - very close to the ground
for those who don't know from the last two versions, the fake stones were masked with a hand drawn image map, which I drew, and a image texture for the sand(the sand also has displacements)

just over three hours.....

This reminds me of a movie I saw with Jennifer Lopez...what was it?  It's about a dreamworld in which she psychoanalyzes patients.  Anyway, this looks like a cutaway from one of those scenes.  Good lighting.  Cool idea.

calico, I think I know what movie your talking about, but I can't remember the name.

I did another version with some trees in the sand, masked with the painted shader so they would'nt overlap with the stones, I did'nt put it online at  first, because I was'nt sure if I liked it or not, but I think post it on devart now anyways.
