Wow man! I think I know why Oshyan finds this so striking. The lighting and shadows (from clouds) work extremely well together.
I really like how the light strikes on the trees to the right of the lake. Fantastic!
This image breathes realism. Great work!

The bloom effect enhances the contrast quite a bit and gives a thick, believable atmosphere! :)

here is a preview render done before i added the  vegetation and with a slightly different light (not as good as the first one...) and pov
I pretty liked the terrain ^^

there is one PF in terrain and one strata too...
the pf flavour are ridge and billow
