I don't think so the planet in the sky seems to be very terragenish vues planet/moon system is very poor its just a picture projected into the sky
but I wonder how he got the clouds to animate in terragen 2 Can you do this?

Definitely TG2, the clouds are probably done with a transform shader, translating the density fractal.

Interesting. It does look like TG2, the clouds, planet, and atmosphere especially. At that resolution it would be a lot of render time, and it's strange that someone into TG2 enough to animate wouldn't have posted their work here for people to see. But certainly not beyond reason. Hopefully someone can confirm.
