Title: New Climate
Post by: PG on March 14, 2009, 09:33:14 AM
This is stage 4 in an animation project I've been working on for about 7 months now, although I can't seem to find the other topic I made about it...hmm
Anyhoo, it's an animation of the earths climate changing rapidly over just 3 months where the atmosphere...well actually I won't spoil the ending ;D
Here's the first draft render of stage 4, I know the clouds are really sucky but they're just placeholders till I get the lighting positions, camera angles, etc. where they need to be. The godrays are actually there to show where I want long shadows from the clouds :P
I'll post 1 and 3 which are close to final when I have time to render them.

When do we get to see the animation?  This looks cool.

A draft render of the 2nd section. Still needs work on the light depth, seems to be a weird blue pushing through the clouds at the back. Fake stones don't seem right either.

nice, i was looking at this topic yesterday, but I didnt want to bump it :D

the lighting looks a bit grainy in the background - you said it was a test render so you'll probabaly add more samples on the final thing

There's too much haze. This terrain is displaced so much that the camera is actually at 18 000 feet (Is TG2 done in feet? :D) so I had to raise the atmosphere and it's really difficult to keep the balance.

Edit: Ooh 900th post

Nice work.  Are you going to stay with this one and maybe do something more?  Should I mention the A word again?   :o

Units in TG2 are usually meters, so you're really up there! ;D
