Title: Results
Post by: buzzzzz1 on March 26, 2009, 04:00:16 PM
Hi Gang,

Thought I should share the results from RArcher's (Ryan's) help with the 16 texture limit problem I was having discussed here: http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=5907.0 (http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=5907.0)  This ship only had 31 textures so I only had to split it in half.
Anyway here's the ship.

Thanks Again!

NICE!!!

Strange though, that the hull of the ship is in such a bad condition, but the masts and ropes are all still in one piece...
I needed a wreck like this for my Parting Sea scene. Where did you get this?

Thanks, Not really a finished scene by any means. Just showing the ship and everything else is a place filler.

The sky and the sand really complement the ship - I'd say they're more than just filler  :)

Very cool image! I love the wear on the ship though I agree the mast could be broken, etc. to fit in with the rest. I know that's something you wanted to do, but perhaps haven't managed yet. The sky though... surely it's a photo background? If not, I have to say that's the best part for me. ;D

Awesome ship and the fillers aren't that bad at all :)

The ship looks a bit like "The Black Rock" from tv-series Lost ;D
Love it!

COOL, Buzzzzz!!!  Who did you download this from?   :P

Seriously, nice work.  We need some other fill-in, though, like maybe Jack standing next to it.

Can you please post a link to where you bought this object? I need something similar for a scene I'm working on...

Hmmm, I can only load the object in poser, and export from there... why do they need to make it more complicated than necessary?

Buzzzzzzz, you have already exported the object. How large is it as obj?

Sorry Mohawk I missed your question.

The link TU posted is just for the texture pack add-on. You will still need the ship that's here------>>  http://www.daz3d.com/i/3d-models/-/medusa?item=4440&spmeta=rq&_m=d (http://www.daz3d.com/i/3d-models/-/medusa?item=4440&spmeta=rq&_m=d)

$39.00 for the two if you want the ghost ship textures.

Did you buy the ship or just the textures for the ghost ship???  There's no ship in the texture pack.

No, I just read your post... buying the ship model now.
Thanks for the link.

How are you coming along with destroying the mast?

Not.....was thinking of contacting the modeler and asking if he would be interested in doing it. I would like to have a couple of the masts broken and splintered with the ropes hanging down here and there. Unless you have the program to do it because I don't and even if I did I wouldn't know where to start.

I'll have a go at it later on... when my biblical render times finally find their end.
When I finish I'll let you know and send you a link for download.

Cool, Thanks!  I guess since we both paid for it we are safe doing that??

I think so. We both paid for the model, and any work I do I'm free to give or charge for as I like.

I managed to export it into 3DsMax and delete some vertices from the main ship mesh.
See below.

The problem is that poser groups and materials don't import into Max, and so don't export. So I have to figure out how to get the textures of the whole ship onto the broken ship...

So Buzzzzzz, waddaya think? Is this what you want?

And does anyone know how to export from poser and import in 3DsMax with the correct settings so the materials and groups are kept?
