Now, as I am still taking baby steps with this program I think this is one of my better pictures. A few recent pictures have inspired this. I would love to render a higher resolution (for my desktop) of this as I am still using the free edition. Any C&C is welcome, I am more than willing to add some realism to this to this. Contact me somehow (email or msn is fine) if you are willing to render this higher for me.

I like the colours, but the tilt is to much.

tilt is to much.
so less tilt or none at all?
Edit: I had the pixel ratio up a bit on my render so I could see what it would look like, so the tilt was less aparent.
It's a nice image, but I'd agree re the tilt. Less rather than none.
How long did that render take? If it was under 2 hours, I could probably do you a slightly bigger one. What size is your desktop?
1280x800, just a laptop. should be well under 2 hours. Just thinking, is there anything I could do to do it for improvments?
Well, when/if someone wants to here is the .tgd and Starmap(if it is needed), just on the background object default Shader
Very nice colors and I like the water, too.
Thanks Calico :)
Hi Luminos,
Check your email!
Very impressed so far ;D
Check YOUR email! ;)
Kudos to Domdib for the larger render
Here is a new render with different settings: Quality 1, AA 3, 2, 2, 8
Unfortunately, there seem to be some small black artifacts on the right in the water. Is there a way of removing them? Will upping AA help for example?
It probably also has to do with the parallel lines you are seeing at the right in the water.
To solve this enable "microvertex jittering" in the extra tab of the renderer.
Hopefully this will also solve the black spots since they're in the same area.
Martin
Thanks TU. However, I'm not sure Microvertex jittering will help with the artifacts, as the previous render had this on, and they still appeared. :(
what about a new water seed?

I'm not sure either, but I'm sure it will get rid of the lines.

I agree, this seems to be the quickest way of having a chance to get rid of them.
What are the scale sizes of your water shader?
Thanks for the suggestions, guys, but it's kind of up to Luminos - I'm doing a larger render for him as he only has the free edition. So maybe he would want to respond to those ideas.
Without knowing what microvertex jittering is... I'd say a new water seed could be the way to go, the water here has no specific so there will be no upset to change it although the only effect I can see happening from this is that it may just move the black to other places and waste domdib time (not something I am a fan of). Scales on the waves I dont think I have changed from default. Rough = 0.02, Wave = 10, Smallest = 0.1. Mostly i've just played with the colours on the sky.
Well, with increasingly long end tags this is what I have after postwork. Thanks to everyone for help. Now what else can be done?
I don't think the black spots are overly distracting, but what happens if you increase the smallest scale to 0.5 first and then 1? Do they decrease? They will probably affect your water quite much, so I recommend to do some crop-renders first.
Further I have no recommendations. I think it is a simple but pleasant scene to look at and except for the minor issues with the water I'd consider it finished :)
Nice work!

Looks pretty good to me - nice lens flare :) If you're happy with the result then I'd say it's a wrap.
Very happy with it, Thanks Dom for the render and everyone with their help. Since all I was after was a simple desktop picture, I think it came out really well. ;D
quite nice! well done.
