Title: Misty Morning in the Forest
Post by: cyphyr on March 30, 2009, 10:55:39 AM
Well this was inspired by FrankB's post (http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=5925.0), took 32+ hours to render. You can just about see the rays but they're so soft, almost invisable. The mist is a Cloud layer at camera height with Ray Trace Shadows enabled, this is why it took so long. More of a proof of concept realy but C & C vert welcome.
take care
richard

Nice rays. Try increasing exposure and contrast in a next render, maybe that will help...

Very atmospheric and lush. The ground cover is also v. nice. Where did you get those models?

Very nice Richard.  I think the problem is that you didn't push your lighting quite far enough.  I've taken a few liberties with your image but if you saved the .exr version you will be able to do a much better job than this.

I like the atmosphere and the foreground tree.  Good work.  Keep at it until you're satisfied.

If that's not a manipulated screen shot, I'd say there's something really funny going on with your system ;-)
Or maybe it's just because you have entered a wormhole and now you're ahead of time. But then, I wouldn't be able to see your message now. Weird ;D

The line in the left bottom corner of the image without the sky and all... looks as if you're under the terrain slightly?

Yes, I'm guessing you're under the terrain...
