Title: At the highest peak
Post by: freelancah on April 07, 2009, 11:36:11 AM
I thought I'd share my newest TG2 work. Saved as EXR and did a minor contrast touchup but other than that it's pure TG. The mountain texture could have been a bit softer but I think it's fine this way too..

Lovely image - the layers of clouds create a very satisfying light. What technique are you using to create such variegation in the snow pattern?

Very nice, except it looks like the snow is stretching - are you using an image map for the snow?  Maybe it's a blur from a cloud...

dombid: the snow pattern is a combination of subtle heightfield eroding and intersect underlying
calico: I'm guessing it has something to do with the displacemens but I'm not sure. I didn't use any image maps

Great lighting and mood. I think the mountain needs more "sharpness" to it like some power fractals and such to add some rock structures.

nvseal: I'm currently doing a second version where the mountain is higher and the displacements are sharper and overall more intense

I like how that cloud creeps up the mountain slope. Very realistic.

Agree with nvseal, add some displacements and rock structures to the dark areas and you've got a stunner. Atmosphere and clouds are beautiful.
