Hi Everyone,
We're excited to announce the launch of our Terragen 2 renderfarm service, www.renderfarm.ca. We are currently a small farm but certainly one that could take a load off your systems, freeing you up to create more and wait less.
Check out our sample video at: http://www.renderfarm.ca/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=18&Itemid=17
We've included a cost calculator on the site as well that will help simplify the quoting process. Currently, the calculator works in USD, although there's a glitch that shows the calculated result with the CAN suffix. That will get sorted out soon. As we work out the kinks during the launch, please feel free to write with any feedback you have to andrew@renderfarm.ca. I'd love to hear your thoughts as we work to make this a valuable service to the Terragen community.
Sincerely,
Andrew
Hi,
There seems to be a 404 on you site I am using Firefox build 3.0.8 when I'm on the Render-Farm tab at the bottom of that page it says learn more about the services [link] we offer: when I click that link I get a 404 error. ;D
Regards to you.

Is it right that 1CPU@1GHz per Hour cost 0.55$, or do i miss something? Thats a nice Price!
However, its also a great idea. :)
Hi Goms - That's right! We're adjusting a few things right now, but that's the price we're set with for the next while as we get feedback from customers.
Thanks,
Andrew
Hi,
I don't really understand this.
Is it like if I have an animation I would like to render, I can just ask you to do it?
- Terje
That's correct sjefen. They render your animation for a certain price per hour. Nice that someone now offers this for Terragen 2. Thanks!
Michael
But what happens when I have object's in my scene that I have paid for?

Actually, if I would render an animation at high quality, that would actually be a bit expensive.
I have a 2.# Ghz cpu with 2 cores. For one hour, that would be $ 2,20 per hour. I have rendered for 400 hours (not long for a HD anim, that would cost me $ 880. I am currently rendering over 1500 hours that would be $ 3300. And that is not a speed you would want, but if you want more cpu's that run a bit faster, you're gonna pay even more. Just 4 cores at 2.0 GHz will double the price: $ 6600...
For now, I will not use this service, as I can't pay that kind of money.
actually this price is good! other render-services are more expensive.
And the thought is somehow, that if you render this big projects, you can pay for it because you're a firm or something. ;)
But you're right, there should be another way to calculate the price for none-commercial users.
are they still available?
their site is down.
anyone knows?
Stay tuned for end of January 2011 - there is coming up something BIG, thats knocks you off the socks .... :)
I'm preparing a lot of stuff to be animated so I will stay tuned ;)
