Title: Please help with Geo Control and Terragen 2
Post by: blueland on April 15, 2009, 08:42:35 PM
Excuse my poor english. I am a french canadian guy.

I tried to import Geo Control terrain in Terragen 2.

The terrain looks ok.

But i dont know how to import the selectors that i create as BMP files.

These selectors are representation of sediments or others parts of the terrain.

Please help me. I am very new at Terragen 2.

Thank you.

Try this:

Create a surface layer and attach an image shader to its "Colour function"
Load your sidiment/flow map into your image shader and select Plan Y as its projection type.
Copy the position and size of your imported Geo Control terrain to your image shader.

That should pretty much do it

Thank you very much cyphyr.

I am able to apply sediments to my terrain made with Geo Control.

I must experiment for the color and the size of the terrains.

O K blueland...
next stage go to the bottom of the surface layer requestor in the Coverage Tab set Coverage to .5 and Fractal Breakup to 2.
Next add the same image map mentioned previously to the box with Fractal breakup 00 in it by clicking the (...) next to it and go Create new shader>Image map shader and then add image as before, This will mask out the colours in the Colour Tab of the main requestor where you can now put an image that you want to see in the sediment/whatever area you've just masked out in the previous step.. ....
