There's some very nice things going on here, fill lighting on the landscape, as well as the planet. Tell me, is this a heightfield from outside TG, I'm specificly looking at the erosion streaks down the mid to bottom slopes?
the terrain was done in Geocontrol 2
Geocontrol 2 is by far the best terrain generator around nothing comes close :)
Got to say I've been impressed with what GeoControl 2 can output. It really does have a heads up in the erosion department. I need to get hold of a full version, my demo ran out last January.
Still, nice image mate. Just need William Shatner holding a FrankB hero rock over the head of a rubber suited lizard dude.
Amazing! I'm always waiting to see what you throw out next. I agree with the William Shatner thing.
thankyou ;D
I do not think I am at the right forum though most people here would rather see boring photo realistic scenes of a pile of rocks or "WIP" images rather than my sci vistas that are not the slightest realistic contain some artistic quality, it almost feels like postwork is frowned upon here :-[
but im glad some people have some interest in my artwork :)

Just a question as a point of reference for someone who's been interested both Science Fiction and Fantasy art for as long as they can remember notably cover art illustration by Angus Mckie, Jim Burns, Chris Foss and naturally the work of Jean"Moebius" Giraud among others. With that in mind who are your reference points when it comes to this kind of artwork out of interest? ;D
Regards to you.

um I don't really get my inspiration from famous scifi artists but I am familiar with the artists you have mentioned particularly Chris Foss as his space crafts always amaze me ;D
surprisingly I get most of my inspiration from regular artists from deviant art etc who produce simply stunning scifi vista's that originally inspired me to create my own :)
@wetbanana - Fantastic lighting and beautiful touch-ups. Very cool. I love the colors and the perspective is perfect.
Any hints on how you did the GC2 terrain? It's fantastic, too.
