Title: Running free...
Post by: Renegade26 on April 17, 2009, 06:00:22 PM
...as in letting your mind run free and not being constrained by realism concerns.

Just playing around with Terragen; The colours and the possibilities, realism put to one side - its even more fun!

Great job. I don't think realism should be the ultimate goal in any form of art above all the other possibilities that are there. So thumbs up :)

Ah - you see  - thats because I WAS using your work as inspiration. This image was trying to emulate the 'Imagine if' scene.

Glad you noticed!

By the way, wetbanana, is your work mainly done through T2 or do you cut and paste from many different sources?

PS: thanks to the rest of you for your kind comments

This is good on lighting and colors.  I like the POV.  What I think is too much is the amount of displacement - too strong.

Yes, I have to say I agree in hindsight Calico - I over-sharpened the image in PS.

Trick: lasso the water and sharpen just your selected area.  Then the rocks will remain smooth, and the water will jump out at you.

Might be worth trying.  Let us see it, if you do this or any other improvements.
