Never heard of these, before today.
Hi Calico,
I'm pretty sure ElectricImage started on the mac and then included the PC.
MoI is by Michael Gibson who was behind Rhino, I believe he pretty much programed the initial standalone version of Rhino by himself (working for McNeal). MoI is a pretty neat program and better at meshing files than Rhino, since both programs use nurbs they have to be meshed before rendering an exporting to mesh formats. The other nice feature about MoI is it works with 3dm format, the same as Rhino.
HTH,
Glen
Glen, I wonder how MoI compares to Silo? I'm planning to check out the demo.
It sounds like Silo is a Subdivision Modeling program were MoI is nurbs, it depends on what you want use it for. For me I like nurbs, but here is some of my stuff from Rhino - http://www.3ddigitalgraphics.com/gallery/galleryrh.html (http://www.3ddigitalgraphics.com/gallery/galleryrh.html)
I have never used Silo but it looks to be a pretty well rounded program capable of modeling just about anything.

Nice work. Is it true Rhino is used mostly for machines and anything with more exacting measurement standards?
Thanks Calico,
Yes it does well with exact measurements for creating machines, architect, yachts and other products , the camera on my site was done in exact measurements but Titanic Grand Staircase, Steam engine and station were just done by looking at images, the steam engine only had one view on the internet that I could find. But I think its fun way to model.
What kind of things do you plan on modeling, are you going to bring them into Terragen?
Glen
Hi,
Electric Image has been around for ages. I first tried it on my Mac what must be 10 years ago. I have to admit I wasn't aware it was still available, but it always seemed like a pretty good app and it was certainly a big deal on the Mac a ways back.
Regards,
Jo
It's funny to hear about packages I had no idea exist. I'm always looking.
Modeling...it's a wide subject. Basically, I'm not sure. It's fun learning.
