Hello people, can someone tell me why I always have the animations landscape at something "flickers"? Or can someone tell me what the best settings I should render animations?
Times have here a small video:
www.weipet.com/terragen/flug.wmv
On the right side you can see the mountains a little flicker.
My render settings are:
Deteil 0.8
Aa: 5
GI relative deteil: 2
GI sample quality: 2
GI blur radius: 8
thanks
This is because Detail Blending in the Render-Extra tab needs to be set to 1 (edit: or some value >0).
"Default value for detail blending is now 0, for faster renders. For animations you may wish to increase detail blending." - Matt

ok, thanks
swissAdA - what format are you using to import your models?
Are you animating the props motion inside Terrgen or is the motion imported?
TIA

I use to import the .obj format.
I animating the props motion inside Terrgen. (is unfortunately very difficult)
That may actually (or also) be GI-related flicker. In which case you should increase GI Blur Radius and/or Sample Quality. Try a Blur Radius of 200-400, and if that doesn't work, increase Sample Quality to 3 or 4.

yes, this is how it works. Thank you
Hi Folks, I have again made a test video. Now I wonder why the planes are so blurry. When I have the camera parallel to the planes flying but they should be sharp in the picture? Or?
Here's the link:

Thanks
Without having time to see your video, what sort of AA are you using?
Cool animation!
Regarding the motion blur of the planes: isn't that just normal in TG2? Motion blur applies to everything which moves relatively to the camera?
Hello again, I have a test done again. This time the camera is flying exactly the same as the airplane. But the plane is back in limbo. See picture.
I've tried with various settings.
AA: 1-20
Detail: 0.5 - 1
Did everything but nothing.[attach=#]
I believe the animation processes within TG2 calculate the differences between frames, so it's possible your frames are far enough part to give the illusion of incredibly fast movement. Do you have the Blend setting set to 1?
By the way, there is probably no reason to use anything about 10 on AA. It somewhat depends upon your other detail settings, but 20 is probably way over what you need.
Have you altered the Motion Blur Length in camera settings?

sh**, that is exactly the problem. thank you very much. I can see, I must still learn a lot.
...which is what I was thinking, but didn't look to see. Cool.
