Would two or three of these make a good start to build a render farm? Opinions?

I would say that it's too expensive. You can get a solid Core 2 Quad 2.5Ghz and 4GB RAM desktop from HP or Dell for about $500 if you know where to look, and one of those would beat the pants off of two of those servers, for less money.

Thanks, o_b. What I'd really like to do is get a rack, but that goes along the same lines as expensive. 4 separate machines with Core 2 Quad and 4G each would be useful. ;D
