Title: Study in Rock!
Post by: Hetzen on May 29, 2009, 06:38:33 PM
Well, there's a little bit of a competition at my place on texturing a 3D scan of a model of some rocks. The geometry is all over the place and will eventually need tidying up, hence some of the dark patches. The competitors are Vue 7.5, V-Ray displacements and me Terragen  ;D

Just thought I'd get some feedback from you guy's critical eye. Plus feelling pressured into posting something :-* ;D

Looks cool. I've been trying to make some rocks myself, the difficult part is getting a decent non distorted UV map ... which you seem to have achieved :)

Pretty damn fine rock texture. The dark patches add to the realism in my opinion. Looks like small areas of softer rock have got weathered away.

Can't wait to see what you do with this.
