Funky. May be worth adding another twist and shear to add another direction to the displacement. When they all go the same way it kinda bugs me out. ;D

no they all died, that's why the world is so barren.

This is so cool.  My suggestion?  Add a slight mix of some darker texture to this and don't go overboard.  This is very good.  And maybe play with some GI lighting using the Background shader.  Maybe.  Nice art!

A lot of good suggestions here. I would like to suggest you add an image map shader to the rock structure; one that had some dark blue and purple colored texture. But, only have minimal coverage for a more natural look. You might try the .jpg image texture attached; I've had good luck with it.

In your Objects Group.  Right-click on it and go the internal network.  There is where you can add a Default Shader, then add other images, etc.  Click this Default Shader into your Background and VOILA...a new world of lighting.  Tweaking with the other values and then messing with the GI configuration can even eliminate the need for a sun object.

Thanks for the great file. The terrain looks a lot better now.(although I still have to turn down the coverage a bit. However my file is running quite slowly. Not the rendering of the image, only the actual interface of Terragen. I've tested agianst some other project files and runs at about quarter of the speed as the others. I'll post the tgd. file along with this post. Also it was running slowly before I put the image shader in.

Thanks to everybody for the great suggestions. I should have a bit more time to work on this now that I only have a few days of school left.

Glad you liked it. Of course, you could achieve similar results by affing more chils layers to the rock face; but, this is a good alternative.
