Some nice rocks here!
Maybe adding a twist and shear shader will make them more realistic!
Have a look at this http://www.planetside.co.uk/wiki/index.php/Terragen_2_Tutorials#Intro_to_the_Fake_Stones_Shader (http://www.planetside.co.uk/wiki/index.php/Terragen_2_Tutorials#Intro_to_the_Fake_Stones_Shader) written by Neuspadrin. It is very useful!

No, I think that would make them too jagged and sharp. The idea is to have smooth rounded and worn rocks, as at the sea shore. I think they look realistic as they are! More variation in size would be my next step and possibly getting the tops of the larger rocks to have a dryer appearance?
Lovely! Very realistic rocks with a slimy look and algae on them (or is it something else?)! Some of the stones still have sharp edges, but I would'nt know how to avoid that, to be honest.
cool
I like the stringy algae growing on the rocks.
It's almost like kelp washed ashore. Fantastic!
Thanks for the positive comment.
The algae/kelp effect was supposed to be seaweed originally, but I wasn't happy with the effect.
Here's what I originally came up with:
Nice stones and good lighting. Are you planning to include this in a larger scene?

yeah, the first one of these two is a detail and different POV from an entry to the terragen masters competition (beach). The rules state that the entry can't be displayed anywhere else though.
For the NWDA competition I'm working on an extensively modified version.
I really like this one! :o The seaweed from post 1 is absolutely great! The stones could be a bit more realistic, but this render is absolutely awesome work I think!
Yeah - clever use of procedurals - I should have perhaps tried something similar in my last pic...
