I sent an email to the planetside email as instructed by the registration page, as I would like to upgrade from my old registered version of Terragen to TG2, but I haven't got a response yet and its been at least two weeks. Is there a better way to go about doing it?
Well, I sent attached the key-file of my registered TG0.9 and got an answer just the day after.
I would recommend just emailing again. They have had some issues with spam filters blocking out email, and the sheer volume of TG2 interest almost inevitably means that some emails will be lost in the scramble.
Someone from Planetside Staff will hopefully see this and check the spam mail folder. ;)
Got mine the same day.

So did I, after I bitched a little. ;)
Hmm, maybe I'll just send my key file then. I wasn't sure what to do so my initial message was just asking what to do. Thanks for the tips!
Please do email again. As others mentioned we have had some problems with spam filters blocking legitimate mail. Because the registration address is posted publicly on our website it receives a great deal of spam so we can't do without filtering on the account, but we're definitely working on training it to be more accurate. Your patience is appreciated.
To anyone else who has a similar problem in the future, I hope you won't wait 2 weeks before emailing again! :)

I used a different email address to send the key than what is in my profile here. If you want, I can send from my gmail address (the one in my profile), so that you can keep an eye out for it.
You shouldn't have to send your key, Planetside have all the details of registered users. I asked this when I bought TG2TP and for the record I got a reply withing 24 hours, so they must have a lot of emails to haul through.
I got my reply. Thanks again!

I also didn't get a reply and want to upgrade. Email resent.
BTW, if you want to post an email address publicly, try this neat way of "encoding" the email, address; I've been doing this successfully on many sites:
http://www.mways.co.uk/prog/hidemail.php
I've also sent them an email but never heard back. Or maybe they replied back, and MY spam filter filtered THEM out...LOL :D
Moodflow, Narvik, which email address(es) did you send to? We seem to be having spam sorting problems on the registrations@ address but unfortunately that is the one which receives the largest quantity of spam (upwards of hundreds of messages a day) so it's difficult to always sort through everything to check for false positives. If you do not receive a reply to registrations@ you can try support@ or my personal address oshyan@planetside.co.uk since I get less spam and am more likely to see it. But do try the normal addresses first.

Resent an email to registration& and it all worked. Upgraded, and all set.
By the way, this is worth repeating; if you want to display an email adress online, this trick REALLY cuts back on mauch SPAM (use JAVASCRIPT option for maximum impact):
