Title: Tree Farm
Post by: dwilson on June 08, 2009, 01:36:00 AM
Here is the larger version of my latest image (originally in Tree Farm Challenge (http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=6648.0) thread).

It was inspired by an image of a tree farm in Bonner County (http://www.airphotona.com/image.asp?imageid=433&catnum=8000&keyword=&country=&state=&pagenum=2), Idaho USA.
The trees are from XFrog.  A painted shader was used for the paths and some functions for the squares.

I will be gone for a week so don't get mad when I don't reply ;D

But, where are the checkers?   ::)

Cool idea.  I like it.  Could be a little brighter.  I'll be waiting for your reply.   ;D

This was after the board had been cleared  ???

My new monitor is really bright so it looks fine here, but it does look dark on an old CRT monitor that i have.  I will play with the lighting to make it brighter (if I just increase the exposure then it looks overexposed on my new monitor).

Here is a new version.  I changed the tree model.  They are now Walli's pine trees.

something was lost from the first render. I think it's the overall lighting and the saturation of the greens, which I thought were good.
