Lost the tip of my distant pillar when I did the final render; eventually managed to retrieve it when I got the right shape crop around it for the supplementary crop render. Stitched it back on in Photoshop (Yes, it did hurt).
Yep, Eoin, there's a few jpeg break up lines in the bottom right corner. For your info: AA was at max 11, and, no I didn't apply any post sharpening in Photoshop.
John
great scene, well done :)
Woaw, what a mood in this picture!
I like the two peni... I mean, the two stone "piles" ;D
Hey Schmeerlap, your moody falli reminded me of a quite similar scene I did a while ago.

Freud would really like this thread ;D Well executed ;)
Great sand texturing, and the sand storm adds to the realism.
I'm thinking "double-edged sword" here. Could be heading for a "mine's is bigger than yours" thing here, or a "who's in need of the most compensation" exercise ;D Hope I didn't open a can of worms.
Hey but, Dune, that's a great render; I like the sculp marks on the nearest outcrop, and love those wispy clouds.

Great atmo !
As always, your work is interesting and well executed. The sand storm is great. I think I would call the stele 'rock termite mounds' in case any censors are viewing. ;)

What, here at Planetside Forums? Never!
Anyway I've wrapped it up in a protective shroud of culture and mythology. So it should be OK.
John

Uh-huh . . . . . . and perhaps a few strategically positioned straggly bushes ;D
John
I think schmeerlaps are the bigger ones...

Yes, his' are bigger ;)
Great image and great thread. :D :D :D
That dust storm is fantastic!

"What have I done"? to paraphrase Alec Guinness.
"Look what they've done to my scene, ma"! wailing like Melanie.
I can sense the administrators' finger hovering menacingly over the censor (redact) button.
I knew I shouldn't have opened Pandora's box (oh, no, someone's going to see a double entendre there too).
Help.
John
It's just that we all have such dirty minds. If you said they were Lot's un-mentioned wives...
It's a great pic. It does not matter where our gutter minds are at.
Also, its not like "oh, now i have to make bigger ones"..... ....... 8)
You should make 'The Flacid Phalli of Min' next.
Only if you think you can handle the contortions of the twist and shear shader, that is! :D :D :D

fixed :P
Needs a big spaceship above it with its cargo port spread open, coming down for a slow landing. I think that would really thrust your point home.
I think DandelO could also add a couple of his now famous spheres above that cargo port, one slightly larger than the other, just to add that little bit of reality.
Sweaty ones?
Depends if the sports bra was too tight.
I don't know; give them an inch (even worse, several) and they'll take a mile.
btw, does anyone remember the "Stop It, This Is Getting Silly" sketch from Monty Python's Flying Circus?
John
"And now for something completely different. A man with two buttocks." maybe? ::)
Hi Schmeerlap

Looks like Bryce Canyon, a very beautiful place!!!
A good place to go meditate if you're feeling a bit phalically challenged. And at the time I thought I was being a bit risque. Nature outbrazens us again.
John
Ha, I certainly throws us curves! I thought you'd get a kick out of the pic.
As far as I know, Min is an Egyptian God. He guided the lost travellers in the desert and was too, a deity of male fertility. So, your image title could not be more precise...
Good ones :-)
