Certainly not the quality some here achieve, but nevertheless, one of the pictures I'm fairly happy with. Some more work and it can look good:
My only problem with it is that the green down on the banks doesn't look very convincing. Reduce the coverage to break that up a bit, I guess. Other than that, excellent
I think your strata layering is excellent. I agree with deepdish, the green should be broken up some. It is a nice spring, new leaf color, so I would keep it. It's just too regular. A few large fake stones at the base of the cliffs would be cool also.
I especially like the distant red strata in the second image. Cool point of view. Pretty good lighting. 8)
It uninteresting is not put that misses a little realism all the same! To begin again and improve!
I love the strata, but the pic is missing depth/realism due to a lack of shadows defining the terrain - I can only see cloud shadows... maybe it's just me :)
Edit: the more negative comment was in respect of the 2nd image!
