Title: Free Fall
Post by: tumasch on June 19, 2009, 10:18:44 AM
Well, I finally have the heart to show a picture here. Feels a bit awkward among a crowd of such talented folks. But anyway, here we go...

This picture was my contribution for the May Contest of www.terragen-masters.de (http://www.terragen-masters.de), the topic being "Cliffs". It came off suprisingly well. The only criticism was that it lacks some sort of river. So I thought I'd post it here, perhaps you folks have some further ideas for improvement...? I don't know if I will ever update this render, though, but your hints might give me ideas for the future.
:)

Very dramatic pov - the cliff and its surface is excellent; tremedous sense of scale too

Yep, a small riverbed would be great.
Nice to see you working with tg2 again. And to see your renders are still great. ;)

Excellent quality render. Especially like the top of the cliff with the grass hanging over the edge. Maybe have a suicidal adrenaline junky para-leaping over the edge.

Thanks everyone for your very positive comments. I personally see some flaws here and there but that's probably due to my looking at this picture for hours... :D

Brilliant work on the cliff. The clouds look a bit like a flat backdrop image though.

Very nice render! Just tell people it already has a gorgeous river, its just covered by all the trees along the bottom.

Hm, that wouldn't work as trees don't grow in water. Or it would have to be a very small brook or something. 8)

Excellent cliff face detail.  Would you have any tips to share?  Or a clip file?  Very nice work.   8)

Cool work man! I really like the fractal work on the lower left. Great sense of scales and depth as well. Very nice work!
