Title: Along the Withywindle
Post by: Henry Blewer on June 24, 2009, 10:58:22 PM
Hey FrankB,
I have re-rendered the image I sent to you with new lighting settings. The image processor was turning things to mud... I did this small render as a test for the lighting.
More AA would be great, but 3 is the max with the version of T2 I am using. Thanks for the critique.

I also smoothed the water surface. You did say it was too rough. The reflections are better, but still diffuse enough for a river.

I changed the lighting. To try to get rid of the graininess, I resized the image and ran some smoothing algorithms. This is a link to the full size version on my Flickr photostream.

so just that I am sure: the entry is final and you want me to take the image posted on flickr and take that for the contest gallery, is that correct?

Thanks,
Frank

Yea Frank. I think it's as good as it is going to get. I have downloaded quite a few good tgo examples I want to examine. I can't increase the anti-aliasing without damaging the detail.

Thanks for the advice. It is much appreciated.

That is the NWDA image contest: http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=6419.0

The contest gallery is hosted at the NWDA shop: http://nwda.webnode.com/nwda-image-contest/

I have a question. Should I put all my projects into one thread to share the images? Or just use a different thread for each? If I used one thread, it would be sort of like a sticky.
I've been on Flickr for almost a year. It's the only experience I have with these blog/posts. On FLickr, all the images go into your photostream. Then you add them to groups to share if you want.

We all usually start a new thread per image, easier to distinguish what's new and what's been read before, I guess.
