Title: Neige Tardive (different atmo page 2)
Post by: Seth on June 30, 2009, 11:04:25 AM
Still playing with the same tgd (Ventus and Neo Ventus)...
this is not a finial render but i am having fun with the atmo ! (and the water to be honest)
i tried some snow as you can see.

edit : MVJ enabled because i had the lines bug on the water without it ;)

Snow? You mean sand, surely... At least that's what it looks like on that red rock.

Snow or sand, it's beautiful and could be either.  Nice work.  Looks realistic, Franck.  Great lighting.

Cool.... I love your texturing. The sand/snow is pretty damn awesome and the water....  :o Wow.

Again, cool water dude :)
Did you use intersect underlying for the snow?

yes i did use intersect underlying ;)
i think i'll come back on this one adding some trees but i don't know if i'll change the atmo... i like the colours it gives to the surfaces...

It's an image like this that I can imagine a Star Wars type craft skimming over the water and heading for a hidden entrance on the other side of this mountain.  SWEET.

still working on atmo...
i did exposure tweaks on PS working on exr format... (a bit, i am not very used to it)
different colours in atmo, different mood  :)
maybe i'll post the not tweaked one later but i need to go to work !  :-[

I liked this better without the tweaks. Maybe the reds in the clouds? They are too general, I think the sun's emitting direction has been lost.

I like both....look forward to seeing the next one!

yes i know what you mean about sun's emitting direction :)
i am doing a little something o atmo and sunlight and this is one of the scene that i'll use as demonstration.
it's far from being finished but i just want to explain how you can pretty much change the mood and feeling of a render playing with atmo  ;)

btw, here is the version direct from TG2 before my postwork attempt  :)
