Hi everybody,
At the moment Walli is preparing a new NWDA-product: Dry Plants
This image contains 10 populations of different dry-plants, all from his beta-versions of the packs.
The models are really detailed and of great quality, see the next post below!
Some specs:
10 pops, 23555 instances with 2.809 billion triangles in total. All rendered at max quality
1000x1500px, detail 1, AA 12, GI 1/3/6 + SS and 80 atmo samples @ 80.
The lighting is a mixture of GI and AO with a single lightsource.
Rendertime: exactly 14h
Used some other NWDA-stuff as well:
- Frank's fake stone & hero pack, but I forgot to tick off "blend as stone density" and they're awful at certain places :(
- My own canyonpack
- My latest version of the new sandshader, see on the far right of the image
Thanks for stopping by, feel free to comment/ask :)
Martin
And here they are at closer distance :)
Large sense of scale.... These are looking nice.... I've been waiting for these. Do you know if Walli is going to bring out a dry grasses pack? I saw some in Franks Southwest Us pic and he said he might if the interest was there.... it is. ;)
I really like Walli's plants. I think I use them too much. They really help my attempts look good!
Anti gravity plants, for those times when simple earth bound vegetation just wont do the job !! Sorry couldn't resist, great bushes tho!! :)

There is a probability that Walli will look into making dry grasses next, but let's finish these dry bushes first. I'm already extremely anxious to see what you all are going to create using these bushes. To me, the shortage of dry bushes have been a serious problem in making dry environment scenes that consist of more than just stones - a key element, so to say.
I mean, stone-only scenes are great too, but dried vegetation adds a lot of realism, complexity and detail to these renders, making them even more interesting.
The bushes will be made availble soon if no problems become apparent during testing. As for packaging, it will be similar to how the fresh grasses are being offered.
I will probably re-do the southwest US render overnight, in that I replace the bushes with Wallies new dry ones. Sould give he image a boost, I am certain of that :)

TU, stop tormenting us with that gorgeous sand and get it on sale already! ;)
Maybe if you have the sand and dry bushes released soon, and then dry grasses, you could consider a "Desert pack" mega-bundle?

My apologies, thanks :)
A mega-bundle might be a nice idea to be considered. When the time is there we'll discuss it.

Waaahoo ;D
Walli's dry land flora pics obviously show that his talent for creating good (the best?) desert plant objects has certainly not dried up. While I can't promise to put out any cash for the products, the second demo image sure is going to come in handy to improve my own sagebrush textures. thanks Walli!.
The sand is fantastic !
Hi,
as the Dry Bush bundle Pack is now available, which comes with 12 species, I thought 'd post a few demo renders of a selection of the individual species here...

Great looking plants! Terragen 2 first...
I am not familiar with the currency denominator in the price. Is this in marks, euros or francs?

marks??? :D
The pricing is in euros, below it you can see the current exchange values.
Thanks. That's about 75 euros per dollar. I'll have to see if I can get some Chinese money, the exchange rate will be better. ;D
uhm, I recommend you check your formula again ;D
Great looking plants and sand TU and Frank; and Walli. I've been in the hunt for some dry weather plants. Here in the desert, sage and brittle bush are pretty dense in population. Creosote bush is another one you see quite a bit. Visit Google and check out the plants of the Sonoran desert for a good overview.

Hi Frank,
It would be very good of you if you were to label each of these dry bushes with their appropriate number (as appears on the download). This would make it a lot easier making a choice when getting ready to use one of them. Thanks in advance,
Bob
Mmmmm.... just got my pack. Thanks.
