Title: Delete pop without crash?
Post by: manleystanley on December 21, 2006, 05:22:04 PM
This is an everytime I do it crash. When I delete a population object TG2 always crashes. Is there a way to delete them with out crashing TG2.

This is a known problem and I think it has to do with removing the node while its settings are being displayed. The workaround is to delete from the node network view while on a different layout tab than Objects. For example switch to Terrain then find the population in the node network and delete from there. This will leave behind the object that was inside it in the Objects node list and if you click on it it will cause a crash, so it's not a perfect workaround, but it'll do for now.

This problem will definitely be resolved soon.

Guess I'll just have to deal with it till then  ;D Thanks.
Right now I'm crash testing objects  :D and trying to find a consistent way to filter them so they can be used. Right now resetting the materials in Hex 2 is working fairly good, but not 100%. :-\

Have you tried importing OBJ's, saving as TGO, and then reimporting? Some people are reporting good success with this.

I've looked to do it, but I don't see a way to. Probebly a sub menu I'm missing. ;)

Right-click an object in the node network view and choose Save Object File.

you can try disablibg the population if you dont need it

also you can disable the object associated with the population so that it wont load the object every time you open that particular file....
