Title: How to export terrains?
Post by: nedlud on August 11, 2009, 12:55:57 AM
Hi there,

I'm new to Terragen. I've only been using terragen 2 for about a week now. I've seen references in the documentation about being able to export terrains, but I can't work out how to do it.

Can anyone tell me how to export a terrain?

Can I export a procedural terrain (I *love* the alpine procedural terrains)? Or can I only export height fields? If so, can I convert a procedural terrain to a height field? And how?

Two way to export Terrains, Firstly, yes you can export Heightfields and if the Heightfield Generate> Use Shader has an alpine fractal plunged into it that is what will be exported. Dont forget to generate the terrain. The other way is to use the lwo micro exporter (in the last render tab) which exports the field of view of the camera. Try placing an orthographic camera above the centre of your scene and exporting that.
Hope this helps
