Hey folks
I'm about to make a picture with a specific size (875x150) - but when I make a "new" document the preview is too large.. How can I edit it so it fit my need?
I've been trying and trying to figure out how to change it but without sucess, so I hope some of you guys could share some knowledge:)
- Mike
Just click on the bar between the preview window and the node network window and move it slightly, the preview should update to the proportions of your image :)
Richard
Hallo Richard
Thank you so much for sharing this.. I have been fighting with it for 2 days now haha.. I thought I did everything possible to change the size of it..
Thanks once again:)

I've been using T2 for a long time. I only found out about this when a doorbell rang. It startled me and I licked onto the bar, which resized the preview. :-[
I wish some of the other things could come to me so accidentally.
Hi,
Obviously I need to add something to the splitter bars to make them more obviously splitter bars!

Jo
Jo, maybe Richard is talking about the bug where the aspect ratio doesn't update automatically until you resize the view?
Matt
The preview resizes on my version. It does not resize on the left top, where the 'easy' node tree sits.

Maybe Richard is but I'm not clear on everyone else :-). I'll have look at the aspect ratio thing.

Jo
What I do to have an updated aspect ratio in the preview window, is save and reopen.

What I do to have an updated aspect ratio in the preview window, is save and reopen.
As others have mentioned, all you need to is twitch the splitter bar dividing the 3D Preview and network view. You could also resize the window or close then reopen or maximise/minimise the 3D Preview. Hopefully that will save you some time!
I've fixed the problem with the aspect ratio not updating for the next release.

Jo
Yeah I was talking about the aspect ratio, I always assumed it was down to my older graphic card/drivers.
Richard
Thanks, Jo. That saves time indeed if loading stuff.
You can also hit 'reset' to fix it without closing and reopening the preview...
Would it it be technically possible (Aspect Ratio issues aside) too have the preview window automatically re-size upon resolution change so that having too do so manually is not required? This is the behavior that you'd expect too happen and would save many headaches for users, some thing too think about for inclusion in future! ;D
Regards to you.

I'm not sure what you mean.

Hi Jo,
I'll try too clear things up when changing the aspect ratio by altering the render resolution in order to change the preview window too the new size right now you have to manually use the Maximize/ restore down icon in the preview in order for the window too re-size to the new aspect ratio. What I'd like is for the preview window to re-size automatically when entering a new aspect ratio and this process should also work with entering new render resolution values.
If this goes against some methodology or other of how windows (Windows meaning UI element not OS of that name) work then never mind, just thought it may help.
;D
Regards to you.

When I was saying I had fixed the problem of the aspect ration not updating, I meant the aspect ratio of the 3D Preview and not the render node param of the same name. If you change anything which effects the aspect ratio of the 3D Preview, which would be the image width, image height, aspect ratio or pixel aspect ratio params, the 3D Preview now updates to show the correct aspect ratio immediately. I hope that clears it up.

Jo
