Post by: aymenk2003 on August 20, 2009, 02:18:23 PM
QuoteAs Volker Harun Said...I would like to invite and encourage you to upload your results to the image sharing area of this forum.
Maybe one thread where we can gather our experiences ,-)
And of course I would love it, when you use the Towerbuster Terrain...

here a new render I've end up when I was reading the Powerfractal lesson of Volker

I read Volker's power fractal lesson about two weeks ago. This time I bookmarked it. Too much good stuff to have to search for it everytime I have a question.

Though quite surreal, the lighting looks very real to me somehow. Nice soft grainy texture on some of your rocks as well.
You probably already have seen yourself that you need some extra samples in your atmosphere to get rid of some grain.
Did you use a lightsource or the sun? If you used a lightsource then forget about the samples, it won't help :)

Hi TU...
I 've used a light sun ... about adding sample in the atmo you mean the cloud ?

No, Ayemenk, he means in the atmosphere node.

This is an importand aspect to clouds that I picked up from Matt: If you see grain in the dark parts of a cloud then you need extra atmo samples. If your white, lit parts of the cloud are noise-free then you need not apply more cloud samples. The atmosphere is the problem here. I'd think about 80 samples would be fine for this image as it isn't too dark.
