Title: Titans Realm (small update)
Post by: Jack on August 23, 2009, 07:26:51 PM
Hey guyz
This is an atmosphere i have been working on I really wanted to incorporate green into this image And found It mixed quite nicely with the peach/orange hue;).
you never really see green used as an atmosphere colour in scifi images I think because when used on its own it looks just too unreal but when mixed with other colours it turns out to be for more EPIC than blue lol!

I rendered this big so have a geez at the colours:)

the render was post composed with three exposures into an hdri image then put through photoshop im pretty pleased with the cloud detail some parts are still a little grainy though but il workk on that.
all the rays are done within terragen 2 no postwork ;D
I will be doing more with this atmosphere right now it imbetween urban sprawl or giant organic structures on the desert landscape ;D

enjoy!

To get rid of the grain boost the cloud samples to 150 and the atmosphere samples to 125 it should clear the grain right up ^^

I like it lots - you have a nice sense of color - I envy you!  It is very pleasant looking at it, I like the orange rays at the beginning of the green side.

It is a very special render, I like it a lot.

Most times green (a touch of) is used for clouds and fog to get an uncomfortable mood ... just short before a thunderstorm. Your render provides a very balanced mood due to the choice of colours and composition.

Good one!

cool thanks guyz!

yeah Its sort of confusing to look at it looks dark and drab on one side but as the gold light filters in it adds real might to the image lol!

I love the creativity here, and the rays are outstanding. Really a beautiful result. I'm looking forward to seeing what scene you integrate it into.

this is another version just using one image from photomatix unlike the first one that contained a mixture of two hdri images as well as the raw file.
this ones lighting is less intense some may enjoy iy beta lol!
