I added some details to the mothership and created a rather simple flying saucer in 3ds Max. I used it as instanced geometry in a particle system, saved the particles as one object and imported it into TG. I tweaked the clouds (still a bit grainy although I used 256 samples) and the additional lightsources a bit and voilá. It took about 65 hours to render because I had raytrace shadows checked in the clouds quality tab.
I looked at the old thread. On both there is a lack of specular highlights on the objects. They currently look flat. I think this would add some realism to the scene. I think it will be rough getting the right amount, too much will wash out the objects into the sunlight color.
