Title: Negative Sun Workthrough

I've been playing around with Suns with negative strength values. Here are some of my experiments;

Number 1 is just a low normal sun with 3 negative suns of around -0.3
Number 2 is the same 3 negative suns the same but with the normal sun between 2 and 4
Number 3 is the same as number 1 but with a lower normal sun, below the horizon and higher strength
Number 4 is as number 3 with the strength of the normal sun ramped up even more, to 70
Number 5 shows the negative suns moved closer together to test their effect on each other
Number 6 is to show how the negative suns block light from 2 normal suns on either direction, so you have a band of normal light which would normally be very bright
Number 7 is a decreased strength. (-0.4) for Sun 3, I made the disc visible and set it to 5 as well
Number 8 is the same as 7 but with no disc and the strength decreased further to -0.6
Number 10 is a single negative sun set to -0.3 seen from above the atmosphere in a "sunrise" test

I've also been looking at the same thing with lightsources. Unfortunately all it does is reverse the colour that you choose. The colours in image 9, left to right, were actually set;
White (negative value), Pink (negative value), Pink (positive value)

It could be useful if someone were to do interior images using Terragen 2. Like the Desert Temple project I abandoned.

Yeah, I've tried doing that. But models you can get from the internet just don't work very well in TG2. Bits missing, no textures, etc, etc. I've got a couple of models in my Terragen folder, let me see if they'll work.

Edit: No I don't have any. I couldn't find any on the internet that work either. Most of the problem is that TG2 can't recognise the mtl files.

I have had success using Blender for creating objects. It has a good wavefront object exporter. Try loading your internet objects into Blender. Do whatever tweeks are needed. Each material in Blender becomes a surface in Terragen 2. Make sure you select convert to triangles, HQ, normals and the three on the bottom; objects, groups, and materials.

Never got a hold on blender. Whenever I import a scene I just get a blank page. Says it's loaded in the console, yet all is putrescent grey.

Try just importing the objects. Blender scene's are different than anything else I have ever used. The scene is more an animation thing. It's used to blend/compose different cuts of a projects anims/images together.

I create many effects, using negative lighting on surface shaders ;)
