Title: Eloy
Post by: choronr on September 07, 2009, 02:26:04 AM
As usual, the initial render displayed a dark, straight, horizontal line from left to right in the distance. I blended it out using the PS Gaussian filter and clone stamp tool.

BTW, Eloy is a small, once cotton produced town between Tucson and Phoenix. For the most part, cotton farming has ceased there and in most of the state for some reason; and, the land turns back to the desert.

The dry gras blends very good with the ground. Like it.

I love the cloud on the left. The hero rock seems to be hovering over the ground - might be better to push it down a little?

Yeehaw.... dusty out there. Agreed... the dry grass works really well. I haven't been there, so I don't know, but would there be more boulders and stones at the base of the hill/mountains?
Cheers, Simon.

It looks right to me. I agree about the big rock. If this was an old cotton field, there would not be too many stones bigger than an egg. The farmer would have likely had the migrant workers move them off the field somewhere.

Ahhh... I forgot about the farm workers. ::)

good atmo. the grass is good looking as the sand's colour.
yet i think you should work more on your "hero rock" and on the bark texture that looks very flat.

I really like this one.  The bands of subtle colour differences in the sand works really well.

We are all curious what you'll come up with. You make cool stuff which I for one enjoy seeing.
