both planets fully procedural ;D (yes im kidding :D )
this render was reeeeally easy :) just applying some image maps (water, clouds, surface)...i built the image only to use this amazing earth-image i got from my dad with a resolution of 21600x18000 :P (i had to reduce it by half before terragen loaded it, though :( )

Hahahah ;D, Nice... the clouds could do with a bit of work, but generally good. I too had these maps, I think I still have them somewhere... the are massive!
Cheers, Simon.
It's a shame that the quality of the clouds doesn't quite match the surface. Maybe when nvseal's planetary cloud shader comes out from NWDA, it could do the trick?
yeah sorry about the clouds...it was late at night and i wanted to get it all done ;)
i'll try to improve them when i have some time left (it's weekend now...so this could get difficult :D )

ok...i finally found the time to render a new version...changed the sun direction, added some citylights and worked on the clouds
now i have 3 different cloud-layers instead of a just single one :)
at the moment i'm rendering another one with the old sun settings and hopefully a better cloud quality...i'll post it soon
Very good. It is nearly perfect. ;D
i've reworked this scene quite a while ago, but forgot to post, so here the final version with improved clouds =)
