Title: Show Low
Post by: choronr on September 28, 2009, 11:21:36 PM
The original size intended was 1280 x 960. Render errors caused me to downsize the image to 1270 x 953; and, reduce the cache from 400 to 300 in order to get a full render without buffers not rendering. I have a home built PC with a quad core processor; and, with 4 GB of Ram (Vista Ultimate; 32 bit OS). I'm thinking I'd like to upgrade to Windows 7 (64 bit) and install the i7 processor with 8 GB of RAM.

The four populations here are: three of Walli's plants (two different bushes and grass). Sorry but don't remember where I got the Big Pine ...thanks. It was suggested that I change the orange/yellow bush; add more bushes to the slope; and, make the rounded stones more sharp edged. Except for the stones, you'll see the changes on the next image. I kept the stones the way they are since I like them that way.

A bit about the town of Show Low: Show Low, the commercial and tourism hub of the White Mountains of Arizona, was established in 1870 and incorporated in 1953. Located in southern Navajo County at an elevation of 6,350 feet, the city is 175 miles northeast of Phoenix and 195 miles north of Tucson. Show Low received its name when C.E. Cooley and Marion Clark decided there was not enough room for both of them in their settlement. The two men agreed to let a game of cards decide who was to move. According to the story, Clark said, "If you can show low, you win." Cooley turned up the deuce of clubs and replied, "Show Low it is."

This second image had to be reduced in size once again including bringing the cache size down to 150; otherwise, I received render errors. The image includes an additional population; and, a color change in one of the bushes. Enjoy.

I like both. Sorry to hear about the render errors. It seems that you have overcome them very well.
