This is my second entry into the unknown moons contest
postworked planets where done in photoshop special thanks to Burning-Liquid for both recources^^, would have done the planets in terragen 2 but the sun was to bright for the planets to show their true detail and found it had better results.
a 17 hour render not bad considering the size and the fractal details ;D
This Unknown moon orbits a very a Super Earth scale planet roughly 9.2 earth masses.
the system orbits a medium sized star, masses of radiation light the sky in green hues and thin auroras streak across this desolate waste land vista.

nice light. too bad for the colour banding (except if you wanted it)
Nope fixing that atm It didnt even show on my terragen pc fukit >:(
man a hate jpg
jpg is evil format !
This is a fine picture, too bad about the jpeg banding. I prefer png myself. I can't think of anything to add, unless it might be a probe of some kind.

i was going to add a small ship but this is an an unknown moon so I left it out
Where is that contest? I want to submit a pic! :D
Jpeg vs PNG ? OK I WILL HIJACK THIS THREAD! ;)
(at least I am honest) Nice pic bro. - so I should be saving in .png? Even large format images as in final saves?
.png has larger file sizes, but does not have the artifact issues, right?
So after exr conversion and editing save as a .png, - any other considerations?
Any one have any views on this? :) - Bill .

oooww... that one stung! And I even read xkcd.
Yes WB, you definitely have a style all your own!
(any way, try not to get shocked, OK) -Bill .
edit: as in electrical shock my friend !
Im not bothered lol! im using png from now on i hate jpg!
I found out where the Unknown Moons contest was, and I registered as TBH-1138 on deviantART.
I'm working on my (possible) entry. It's a desert moon orbiting a distant oceanic world. I might add more moons if I decide to....
Oh crap! I just deleted one of the projection cameras I decided I didn't need, and TG2 crashed! So I just lost my entire scene! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
Very nice; do you remember the render time?
Are you talking to me or wetbanana? ???

9 hours ae ;)
I've started on my new Unknown Moons scene. Instead of an ocean planet, I'm using a gas giant. The moon is now more airless than dusty desert. Like our moon.
