Hey, I'm new to Terragen 2. First off, I'm sorry if this has already been posted before. In any case, I've grasped the basic concepts and can create some ordinary renders, but I want to dive deeper. There are so many obscure nodes with little to no explanation as to what each option of the node does. Are there any guides that cover in detail the various features?
Probably the first place to go is:

There has been a lot of discussion on the use of nodes, particularly functions. The best advice I can give you is go to the file sharing area and download tgd files done by the older and more active members. They have left a lot of nice terrains, but the connections are there for dissection. All you have to do is see how things were hooked up.
On many node pop up windows there is an icon which looks like a ' V ' this will show the network associated with the pop up.
Also, welcome to the forum!
Thanks for the quick replies.
Alright, I'm definitely getting there. I covered schmeerlap's introductory tutorial, as well as browsed through a lot of the advanced tgd files, but I still have a few questions :D
How can I introduce multiple objects into a single population? I find it rather tedious to create a single population for a single object, so there must be a better way. I failed trying to reconfigure the node connections :-[
That unfortunatelly can't be done at the moment. You could combine multiple models in a seperate modeling program(Poseray is free and great with TG), if you then imported the merged models for a population you'd have at least a little variety. Not ideal by any means but it's a crude workaround method that works to add more than one 'object' to the TG object maker.
You could model everything you need, say a courtyard of a building. Save this as a single object. Then import the whole into Terragen 2.
