Hi to all!
I admit I used Terragen 0.9 before for some images (you can take a look at my gallery), but I'm an almost newbie with Terragen 2 and I ask a simple question that I wasn't able to find in the current documentation:
I created a new landscape with a generated heightfield (not an infinite fractal) and I added some shaders and atmosphere, then I saved the whole thing to reopen it the next day, but when I loaded it everything was as before, except for the land that was flat... soon I realized that the heightfield had to be regenerated, in fact I clicked on "Generate Now" and that was ok.
Am I missing something, or the only option is to save the TGD file with the "Auto-Generate" option activated? ???

There are maybe other topics.
"Auto-Generate" if i remember right has a problem(?).But other TG2 users can aide you better on this.
Cheers.
Kadri.
I avoid using auto generate. Sometimes, if you have objects for example, Terragen 2 needs to do things during the tgd file load. Auto generate then will cause a crash. I just hit generate after T2 does it's stuff.
ok Kadri, I read the answer to the other post... thanks!! ;)
Once you have generated the terrain, right click on the "Heightfield generate" node and click on "Save file as...", save the .ter file and then reload the .ter file with a "Heightfield (load file)". You can now delete the original "Heightfield generate" node.
Hope that helps

Yep, the cyphyr suggestion worked fine, thanks! :)
