A very refreshing looking scene - would like to see a bigger, higher detail version.
Very Old machine I have here ...I'll try sooner a big one with more detail..

I have that, I use it to erode my planet maps (They're more realistic if it looks like there are rivers) and heightfields (0.9xx).
yes... especially rivers...

oh, this last one is nice :-)
That looks very good! :)
I don't often see green surface layers go well with objects, but here it works really fine.
The only little crit I have is that the grasses are a bit noisy and I see that you've rendered this at AA4.
Perhaps you might re-render this with AA6 or even 8, it will really make a difference.
Detail 0.75-0.8 and AA6 will probably be best speed/quality ratio.
Cheers,
Martin
Yes Martin I've that I'll try to render it with these settings...
N_KAID
It looks good at the settings you used. It would probably work very well if animated. Very nice work, but I think TU's settings would really make this pop.
Very good, to my eye the lighting and especially the foreground with the bushes and the tree are exceptionally realistic. Bravo! :D
Thanks everybody....
I'll try Martin's settings this night ....
N_KAID....
My favorite of the three. Beautiful work!

Hmmm that is a bit of a bummer. If you look critically/carefully you will see that the haze and fine detail in the background really improved with these settings.
Though you can see some improvement in the main tree, there's little improvement in the small bushes.
I think the main reason for this is that they have lots small leafs and since you have increased the resolution slightly you might have also introduced extra leafs to be rendered which sort of counteracted the AA, but that's just pure speculation.
I think this object is a really interesting one for testing the new custom sampling for AA. Perhaps the noise will be less when reducing the noise-threshold.
Which model is it?
Thanks for trying this out, though not the result we hoped for it still gives an interesting result and gives rise to new things to try :)
Martin
I think the noise is from the AA trying to figure out how to compute between the foreground branch and the stems and leaves of the bushes. Try changing the bushes leaf color to a darker shade. It could be the bright green which is hard to anti-alias against many colors.
Or change the saturation of the leaves so they are about the same as the saturation of the area they occupy.

Ah yes, that sound very logical indeed.
Perhaps that's the first thing to go for.
For investigating the noise issue my first question would be what antialiasing filter you're using.
- Oshyan
Hi ....
If you mean Pixel filter ...it "Box"
N_KAID
Yes, box is a sharper, more "noisy" filter. I'd suggest Mitchel-Netrevali or another option.
- Oshyan
I usually use Filter Box ...
I'll try this ... Next time mazy with this this render , I'll give it a shot...
thanks Oshyan...

Nice bright atmo and colours - yeah it needs a bit more AA, and the grass colour could do with a touch of red in it :)
Ah yes.. The new render is my favorite. Lovely scene with a great point of view, and I like the vegetation. Very nice! Linda
