after several weeks .... a new render.
it was a "quick & dirty" one .... total time (incl. render) 3h
TG2 with postwork in PS
A very moody image.
I like it!!! The atmosphere is awesome!!!
Nice.
Can you show one without DOF ? I would love to see it.
Kadri.
I agree that the atmosphere and the mood are superb! The trees and the birds really compliment the image very well. My only gripe would be that the terrain is not to the same caliber as the rest of the image. I want to see more of this one! :)
I'm half expecting a werewolf to jump out.
Very nice.
Marc
I second DV; the atmo is really stunning, but the terrain should be more natural. Then it's a winner. Much lower peaks, some subtle outcrops perhaps, some small scattered stones...
---Dune
I echo Dune et al...very nice!
thanks for your helpfull comments !!!
I did the render once more and resized the terrain. The problem was, that it is an old WM-Terrain with a mountain height of 2000m. But when loaded in TG2, the altitude of this terrain grow up to over 22000m!
I added 3 fake stone layers (large, medium and small) and changed the POV
This is now the original render - no colours, staturation, brightness manipulation in PS. Only the trees and the birds are added in PS.
But I don't know which version is better: this one with the part of the tree on the left side or the image without the left tree ... :-\
What do you think?
The one with the tree on the left. Nice.
excellent atmospheres. 8)
I particularly like the dead trees in the middle ground & the fake stones in render 2
As he shouts, "one with the tree".
Nice render... I love the atmo and stones and trees and.......
Cheers,
Simon.
I insist about the DOF :D
Joke aside , someone from you will maybe say something about this , but most of the time DOF on the foreground make the things in pictures like miniatures... DOF on the backround not so...
I see this as a miniature ... Is this only me ?
Nothing to say other then this. I like it :)
Kadri.

I see what you mean, looks miniature indeed...
I agree that the one with the tree on the left side is indeed better. Bigger please :)

Well there is a technic in photography called "Diorama" where you can change a photo of a real landscape into something resembling a miniature.
Believe me, these are real jets:

They really look like miniatures.

How is the DOF being achieved here. Is it blur or plugin in PS, or using DOF tecnique in TG2?
the one with the tree...how did you make the atmo, what were your sunlight setting?
tilt shift photography is what you are thinking of?
easy to fake in ps...( http://www.tiltshiftphotography.net/photoshop-tutorial.php (http://www.tiltshiftphotography.net/photoshop-tutorial.php) )
and heres one I made ... http://fc09.deviantart.com/fs43/f/2009/113/f/7/Miniature_Prague_by_inkydigit.jpg (http://fc09.deviantart.com/fs43/f/2009/113/f/7/Miniature_Prague_by_inkydigit.jpg)

Nice tilt shift image Inky! I have yet to play with that. Been an HDR addict lately with my Canon. - Bill .
Ok .... ??? I don't know exactly what you mean with "miniature" ....
Here is the image without "blur" / DOF (made in PS with a mask) and the tree on the left side
The settings of the atmo are:

Lightning settings are: (you are looking Southeast)

Thanks , ThinkPink.
Please don't take our/mine talking about DOF and such as a negative approach .
This picture is realy nice. It has a artistic feeling.
Cheers.
Kadri.
once again, it looks awesome. 8)

@MacGyver: Richtig! ;) Ich komme aus dem Großraum Stuttgart. Ich verstehe was Du meinst ...
@all others (in my "german english" :D)
Right! I'm from Germany near Stuttgart. I think I know what you mean ... perhaps it is like often with visual illusions, the first look on an image counts. I tried it several times to see the trees as "miniatures" - no chance ;D I am a photographer (landscapes) and that why I played with the DOF ...
MacGyver , bist du auch aus Deutschland? Ich habe vor 35 Jahren in der Naehe von Darmstadt (in Niederramstadt) gelebt.
Ich würde mich freuen zufaellig alte Freunde hier zu treffen ;D
MacGyver ,are you from Germany too? I used to live 35 years ago near Darmstadt (in Niederramstadt).
It would be nice to accidentaly meeting old friends here ;D
Okey,back to topic :)
ThinkPink , can you show us some of your photos please?
Kadri.
@Kadri: my own homepage: www.imago-photodesign.de/landscapes.html (http://www.imago-photodesign.de/landscapes.html) "Landschaften" (landscapes) is my current work. All Black & White. If you click on "Galerie" and then "Portrait", "Akt" (nude) or "Hochzeiten" (weddings) you can see old stuff i made several years ago.
You can also find images there: http://view.stern.de/de/profile/OliH (http://view.stern.de/de/profile/OliH)
ThinkPink , your photos are really good.I would love to see them bigger :)
Thanks.
Kadri.
thinkpink, your photography is superb. :)
i agree with kadri, they could be bigger
Bigger... yes. BUT still amazing photos. The HDR one of the mountains is awesome... and the rolls of hay in the field (my fav)... and the rest of them, well, they're all nice. Great work.
Cheers,
Simon.
