Title: Ramjet model after a few trys!
Post by: matrix2003 on October 28, 2009, 05:06:27 PM
   -   Hardly a Terrain file! Still wrestling with models and surfaces.
Read the PoseRay suggestions in this thread: http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=7344.0
I still can't figure out how to perfect the glass transparancy, and the setup time was ridiculous. This is the sixth version. All in terragen. BG from DA.

Congrats njeneb!  Guess we had similar days!
EDIT: This is my personal favorite at 1920 X 1080.

This is a stunning image. I have been messing around with the transparency also. If you apply too much, the surface just does not seem to render. I added a high specular value so the light fills out the surface. Don't use too much transparency.
Also, congratulations are due to you! I was hopeing Blender could export image mapping correctly, but I had to use Poseray. It's another step, but it works! 8)

I'm a big fan of Anders' excellent models, and you've given this one a full-on sumptuous celestial background. Great work.

Thanks boys. Getting the details in the .obj's was a hurdle for a while.

Looks very good, the model works very well with the background :)
Just my personal taste which shouldn't irritate you in any way, I think the ramjet is going up a bit too steep and I somehow prefer a tilt towards the POV. But all that is only personal taste, never mind. ;)
