Title: Autumnal
Post by: choronr on December 04, 2009, 11:18:18 PM
Late autumn with winter in the air; the Ravens are out for their morning hunt to find as much seed as they can consume in order to build up the necessary fat for the coming cold season.
Models used are:

•   The Noble One tree by Walli.
•   Dry Shrubs by Walli.
•   Mouse-eared Chickweed by Walli.
•   Dead Bush from a friend.
•   Leafless Bushes from a friend.
•   Wind wheel by Kranky.
•   Crows (Ravens) by TerrAde.
•   Fluffy Clouds .tgc clip file by dwilson.
•   Close-up Stone Bed file from NWDA.

The terrain is a procedural one that I created some time ago and have used many times for some of my past images.

This is a great image! I would like to see more of the tree though, perhaps widen the shot a bit to the left? The displacement of the trunk is fantastic. Also perhaps some sparse grass here and there? But it's great as it is, don't misunderstand me. The terrain is very subtle.

I like the sort of painted effect very much. Good work.

Thank you for your visit and comments. I agree about getting some dry grasses in the bare spots; but, the total file was getting kind of heavy. At 1280 x 960 it crashed. I reduced the size to what you see and it completed the render. After I upgrade my system, this problem should go away.

Thanks for visiting. Yes, it does look like a painting. It could probably use some dramatic lighting.

Thanks Jason, it was fun putting together. Would have liked to have a more dramatic lighting/atmosphere though.
