we walk....
This has a little post color enhancement, but other than that 100% TG2.
Cheers,
Frank
very very good mood Frank !
and very different composition and atmosphere from your usual productions.
I like this very much Frank. Maybe a tiny bit more reflection and spec on the path would give it a little colder and icy feel.
Ryan's advice is good. Great render.
This image has kind of a painterly look. I like it :)
Kadri.
thats one of your "moody-iest" renders I have seen so far, really nice work!
great mood, cheers!
Very nice atmosphere!
Great atmosphere/lighting. Are those Xfrog trees?
Splendid render, reminds me of all the times I see something and think dam wish I had a camera with me to capture that.
I like this a lot, Frank. Very painterly indeed.
Good work. Would work as a movie cover or book cover. What's out there?
Thank you all :)
I must say, I'm very pleased with this one as well. It was surprisingly easy to make. Also, I think I am going to use this simple fence more often. To be precise, I think I am going to shop for some more man made apparel that I can include in scenes. Primarily the small things like this wooden fence, or stuff like an old rusty bucket and so on.
At the moment, I'm very much drawn to scenes that put the light itself in its compositional focus. That rarely ever looks "final" without postwork on levels and colors and layer effects and so on, but it's key to come up with the right atmosphere and lighting settings for the scene. If the render doesn't provide "it", no simple postwork can bring "it" out more. Shit in, shit out ;)
Lighting is almost a science in itself. It has so many aspects to work in concert and influence one another, especially in Terragen 2. I was wondering how this complexity can be tamed some, and packaged up in presets. I need to think about this more... and test... and practice. Oh well, so many things left to try, but so little time.
Cheers,
Frank
Very nice render Frank, I love the atmo :)
Minor and only crit is that the sun/glow is a bit big.
Nice simple fence and soil as well!
Cheers,
Martin
A very nice piece of work Frank. I agree about the glow; perhaps a bit less would help. The foreground path leads one into the image.
Thanks :-)
The glow size is deliberate, though. On the one side, it's based on a photograph I used as a guide. Secondly, on my screen the glow has a nice visible gradient, maybe on your screens you see too much white in the image, around the sun? Is that the case?
Thanks,
Frank
Frank, it looks good on my crappy monitor. I don't know if that's good or bad. Still I think it is a very fine image.
It's time to look through the NWDA Gallery again! 8)
here's version 2. Slightly better render quality, and most importantly, wide screen format.
Oh, and there's the answer where the path will lead to ;-)
Cheers,
Frank
far far better !!!
great render !
congratulations Frank !
Seth, you old wide-screeniac ;D
and now, what comes next? Nice update!
hehehe

not sure, maybe I add a couple purple flowers ;)
No seriously, I have another moody scene in mind, but not started yet.
Cheers,
Frank
Looks rather ominous - I'm not sure I'd want to go into that house.
a great place for the blair witch, isn't it? :)
With this lighting and mood, purple flowers would put the icing on the cake.
bang on the money frank!
I like the brightness of the glow. Beautiful, moody render, and your work is excellent.
Great mood, Frank! Excellent image.
Nice dreamy scene. I like the atmospheric settings you used very much.
