Title: A Resting Place
Post by: choronr on December 10, 2009, 04:23:15 PM
I tried for a more dramatic atmosphere here by adding a low lying cloud to simulate fog; but, at this point, I experienced problems related to memory. Also, two populations of vegetation should have covered portions of the lower foreground but didn't show up in the final render. Hopefully, after updating to 64 bit with 8GB of RAM, many of these issues will be resolved.

The Cubic B spline filter with anti aliasing bloom was used in the final render to soften the image.

Models are:

•   The Noble One tree by Walli – free at Planetside
•   Dry Shrub by Walli – purchase at NWDA
•   Stone bed by FrankB – purchase at NWDA
•   Grass by 'klas' – free at Planetside
•   Pine tree by Walli – free at Planetside
•   'One Cloud Atmosphere' clip file by littlecannon– free at Planetside
•   Fill Lights clip file by Oshyan – free at Planetside

Enjoy.

This i a very interesting render, sets the mood nicely.  I wonder what is resting here, as well as what lies just over the hill.

Intriguing composition - we must be pretty high up for such a big cloud to be below

Choronr i like this image .

I would recognize that is was yours probably even if it hadn't your name attached to it.
With no disrespect , you like half trees in your images  ;D

Cheers.

Kadri.

I don't like half trees; but, this one was used to frame out the scene.

Thanks to all for visiting.

I'm with zylot...the surfacing and object placement are perfect (imho), lots of well placed little details ...and I am also intrigued as to what is over the horizon, below in the valley, thanks for sharing Bob
cheers

I like your use of the objects. I have been adding populations and finding the render times to grow with them. This is a good example of 'less is more'. Very nice use of fake stones also. The clouds are great.

Thanks Jason; a lot of time (trial and error; and crops) until I was almost satisfied.

Thanks njeneb; the hardest part was trying to get some of the vegetation to appear in the foreground - in vain, I had to place one single shrub object in the foreground.
