Title: Winter Wasteland
Post by: Gforce on December 28, 2009, 04:36:16 PM
I wanted to make a bleak empty frozen waste. I'm going to add in some foot prints next.

Add some very small displacements to the sands. The foreground is very smooth looking. The sky is great.

The ground is covered in snow that's why its so smooth.

Ah, try adding a small amount of illumination to make it whiter. Or maybe a second sun, high overhead without shadows.

Here's an updated version with a little luminosity on the snow and some footprints.

It looks conceptual! Good composition, but ratio of proportions between heaven and earth, I believe, should be 1/3 (Golden rule).

I like the footprints. They look like they have been there for sometime, neat effect.

It does. Try changing the underlying surface layer to white. Only the ridges poking out of the snow need to be rock colored. This may help make the snow 'whiter'.
