Simple question. How do you create a node folder?

Right-click on the network background. Select "Group"under the "Other" menu.Create your nodes in the group or you won't have them in the group.

Once you create nodes inside your group don't forget to right-click on the group and choose "capture nodes". This way you can move all the nodes just by dragging the group-box.

Thanks. Now how about internal nodes? What are they and how are they created?

Internal nodes are basically what they say they are :) These are nodes which are present within an other node. For example: tree-objects have internal nodes (hence the + sign on the right of the node). You probably know when you double click on a node that you'll see a mini-node-network button on the top right. That's the button to go inside the network of the node self. This is called the internal node network.
Inside tree-objects for example you'll first find the object-maker, which also has internal nodes, going in there you'll find a parts shader and inside that the individual textures.

This is useful for packing up a number of nodes inside a single node to get a cleaner node-network for example.

Hi,

A couple of additional techniques to those already mentioned:

If you want to group nodes you've already created you can select them in the network view and then choose Group from the Edit menu, or use the ctrl-G (Windows) or cmd-G (Mac) shortcuts.

Another way to enter the internal network of a node so you can create nodes inside it is to context click on the node in the network view and choose "Internal Network" from the context menu.

Regards,

Jo
